LOYD CURETON

Loyd Cureton is the director of the Department of Public Works for the City of Walled Lake.  Loyd has been involved in the community for over twenty-five years.  He has been employed with the City since 1991.   He began his career with the City as a field technician in the water department and was promoted to Assistant to the Director of Public Works in January of 1997.  In August of 1999, Loyd was promoted once again, this time to the Director of Public Works.  Loyd is a member of the American Public Works Association and the American Water Works Association.  The department has spear headed numerous projects in the past such as the Maple Road extension, redevelopment of Riley Park, Mercer Beach and Marshall Taylor Park.  Most recently the department completed the construction of a new DPW facility, City hall storm water quality controls and the City’s first ever road study evaluation.  In the future the department will be working in conjunction with other City officials researching grant funding opportunities to update Hiram Sims Park.  If you have any questions regarding parks, roads, water and/or sewers please give the Department of Public Works a call at (248) 624-4849 or email us at lcureton@walledlake.com.
