Jerry's career with Walled Lake spans 22 years. He was hired in Walled Lake as a Police Officer in October of 1980. He has served in the capacity of Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety throughout his career. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. Walker is also a member of the Walled Lake Rotary Club.

The City
Manager is responsible for implementing policies set by the
City Council and for the day-to-day operations of the City of Walled
Lake. Jerry L. Walker was appointed Walled Lake’s City Manager
in January of 2003. He
earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Madonna University received his Master of
Interdisciplinary Technology from Eastern Michigan University.
